To gain real-time financial control and free up leadership bandwidth in TELEPORT Logistics Company, I led the development of a custom ERP system tailored for 3PL operations. This internal tool consolidated shipment data, financial metrics, and employee incentives into a live dashboard – giving our team clarity and enabling me to fully delegate day-to-day operations and focus on new growth projects.

Problem :

Off-the-shelf ERP systems were too generic or too expensive for a mid-sized freight company like TELEPORT. Critical details – like real-time shipment profitability, currency conversion accuracy, or individual bonus tracking – were either missing or poorly supported. As a result, managers lacked visibility, and employees didn’t always understand how their actions impacted the bottom line.

Solution :

I designed and implemented a proprietary ERP that tracked:

– Expected vs actual profit per shipment

– Real-time FX adjustments

– Bonus growth per team member

– Predictive monthly financial outcomes based on live data

This turned the ERP into a motivational and operational tool – not just an accounting back-office system.

Challenge :

The main challenge was adoption. Getting teams to input structured data consistently meant reworking habits. I led internal training, iterated the UX for simplicity, and introduced lightweight incentive nudges to build momentum and ensure accuracy.

Summary :

This ERP changed everything:

– It gave me the confidence to fully delegate operations

– It allowed TELEPORT to run efficiently without constant oversight

– It became a performance proof in the sale of the company to ESTMA in 2019

– It was fully adopted and implemented by ESTMA pre-acquisition

This project sparked my love for FreightTech. I saw firsthand how the right internal tools could transform a freight business – and I’ve been building in that direction ever since.
